James Milner should return to Liverpool training in 10 days, says Jurgen Klopp

James Milner should be back in full training by early August when the squad returns to Melwood, Jurgen Klopp has confirmed.

The versatile vice-captain has been undergoing rehabilitation since Liverpool’s Premier League Asia Trophy triumph over Leicester City.

He had an issue with his quad but Reds boss Klopp has revealed that it won’t be long before his return.
„It was clear from the first day there’s a little bit of tendon involved, so that means that it’s around 10 days,“ Klopp told liverpoolfc.com.

„That means he will do his rehab here in Germany and then should be fit again when we’re at home.“

Liverpool are currently training in Rottach-Egern before their pre-season match against Hertha Berlin on Saturday.
There is also good news for Danny Ings and Sadio Mane as the pair have both returned to full team training. But, Nathaniel Clyne is still having treatment for his back problem.

„This is maybe the longest Clyne has been out with a little bit of [an issue with] the back. We have to wait, time is running and we need Clyne of course,“ said the Reds manager.

Other injury worries to Loris Karius (hip) and Danny Ward (back) seem to be fairly minor. But, they are both unlikely to be available for either the Hertha Berlin game or the tie against Bayern Munich in the Audi Cup three days later.

„Loris and Danny, I am not 100 per cent sure [when they will be back]. Wardy is not too serious but it always takes its time, we will see how long it takes.“
