Jermaine Pennant set to join Billericay Town

Bostik League Premier Division club Billericay Town are set to make another high-profile signing in former Arsenal, Liverpool and Stoke City winger Jermaine Pennant.

Owner Glenn Tamplin has massive plans for the Essex club and hopes the likes of Pennant and last season’s additions Jamie O’Hara and Paul Konchesky will see them speed through the leagues.

Billericay are short-price favourites to win the Step Three league this season and secure the first of three promotions they would need to reach the EFL.
Pennant, who had been on trial with Scottish Premiership side Hibernian, is expected to turn out for Billericay in their pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient on Saturday.
