Kieran Trippier signs new five-year deal at Tottenham

Kieran Trippier has signed a new five-year deal with Tottenham.

Sky Sports News revealed in June Trippier had agreed a new deal that would keep him at the club until 2022.

The 26-year-old, who joined Spurs from Burnley in 2015, enjoyed a superb 2016/17 season and is likely to become Mauricio Pochettino’s first-choice right-back following the £50m departure of Kyle Walker to Manchester City.

„I’m delighted with the news with my new deal. It’s a great achievement for myself and I’m just delighted to get it signed,“ Trippier told the club’s website.
„I always believed that I can play at the top level and like I say I’ve been working hard, even when I’ve not been playing I’ve been keeping my head down and games and been working hard for my opportunities.

„Back end of last season I got my opportunities and I try to do my best. It’s been a good two years and I’ve met a lot of good people, good team-mates and I’ve really enjoyed myself.“

Trippier was rewarded with his first England cap in June, starting the 3-2 defeat to France at the Stade de France.
He has made 41 appearances for Spurs since his £3.5m move from the Clarets, including 13 starts across the Europa and Champions Leagues.

Trippier began his career as a trainee at City before loan spells at Barnsley and Burnley, joining the latter permanently in 2012.Euro Soccer Bonus
