Klopp excited by Goodison Park debut

Jurgen Klopp says his first visit to Goodison Park will be „pretty special“.

The German started as Liverpool manager on 8 October last year, four days after a 1-1 draw with in the Merseyside derby at Everton.

Asked how important tonight’s derby is, Klopp was unequivocal.

„Very, very, very, very big,“ he told Liverpoolfc.com. „For me it’s pretty special because it’s my first time at Goodison Park. I’m really looking forward to it.

Yannick Bolasie has had an operation on his knee and will be out for a prolonged period but Everton have no new injury concerns.

Muhamed Besic (knee) is a long-term absenteee and Phil Jagielka is suspended.

Daniel Sturridge (calf), Emre Can (knee) and Joel Matip (ankle) may all be ready to return for Liverpool.

Philippe Coutinho (ankle) and Danny Ings (knee) remain out.
