Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale says the Spanish giants are hungry for more success

Gareth Bale says he is looking forward to another season with Real Madrid after Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho ruled out a move for the Welshman.

Bale has enjoyed a trophy-laden spell in the Spanish capital since Real signed him for a then world-record fee from Tottenham in 2013 and the Spanish club landed a La Liga-Champions League double last term.

There was speculation that Manchester United might try to bring Bale back to the Premier League this summer but Mourinho said over the weekend that, like his Real team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo, Bale was in the „mission impossible“ category of signings.
And Bale appeared pleased that the speculation had ended when he spoke to Sky Sports on Sunday night.

Asked about Mourinho’s comments, he said: „There you go – I haven’t said anything.“

And the 28-year-old is now looking forward to another successful campaign with Real, having already won the Champions League on three occasions since moving to the Spanish capital.

„We go into every competition looking to win it and it’s no different again this year,“ he added.
„We have got the motivation to do that and will be trying our hardest to win every competition we enter.“

Real lost on penalties to United in San Francisco on Sunday but Bale felt the match served its purpose for Madrid.

„Obviously, the first game in pre-season for us,“ he said.

„It is just about getting the cobwebs out, getting some game time into us.

„We would have loved to win but that’s the way it goes.“

Bale was spotted having a chat with United new boy Romelu Lukaku and added: „He’s just signed so I just wished him good luck for the season.
