Wednesday’s Carabao Cup preview: Steve Bruce seeks Aston Villa progress

The 2017/18 Carabao Cup first round continues on Wednesday night, with Colchester v Aston Villa live on Sky Sports.

Sky Bet Championship side Villa travel to the Weston Homes Community Stadium, with all the action live on Sky Sports Football from 7.30pm, and boss Steve Bruce insists there will be no room for complacency.

There are two other clashes between Championship and League Two sides on Wednesday night as Bolton travel to Crewe and Leeds host Port Vale, while Oldham face Burton Albion at Boundary Park and Sheffield United meet Walsall.

The final match of the round takes place on Thursday night, as Bury face Sunderland live on Sky Sports.
