West Brom boss Tony Pulis hoping to improve his squad this summer

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis is keen to reinforce his squad ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Baggies have been one of the least active top-flight clubs in the summer transfer window, with former Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez and Chinese youngster Zhang Yuning the only two new arrivals at The Hawthorns.

Zhang was immediately loaned to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen for two years and Pulis knows he needs to improve his squad before the end of the window.
„It will be determined by what players are available and what players we can afford,“ said Pulis, speaking ahead of West Brom’s third-place play-off against Crystal Palace in the Premier League Asia Trophy in Hong Kong.

„You’re always looking for better players, you are always looking for improvement.

„I think the team itself is waiting for better players to come in. We’ve got experienced players who have played for their countries – they want to see improvement year after year after year. That’s what we’re trying to do.“

Nacer Chadli has been linked with a move away from the Baggies, just one season after joining from Tottenham for a club-record £13m fee.
Swansea are rumoured to be preparing their own big-money bid for the Belgium international but Pulis insists Chadli won’t be going anywhere this summer, as he looks to keep hold of his best players.

„Chadli is a West Brom player, he’s been a West Brom player for a year,“ said Pulis. „Let’s hope he’s a West Brom player for a couple of years.

„I think he signed a three or four-year contract so we have no reason to get rid of Chadli. We don’t need the money and he’s a good player and we want to keep our good players.“Euro Soccer Bonus
