Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure feels it’s important to keep forward Gabriel Jesus grounded, despite his scintillating start to life at the Etihad Stadium.

Brazil international Jesus joined up with the Premier League outfit last month and it has not taken the 19-year-old long to make an impact.

Three goals in four games, while keeping Argentina start Sergio Aguero out of the starting XI, has seen Jesus given plenty of attention since his arrival for £27m move from Palmeira.

However Toure is eager to not let Jesus get carried away with his strong start and feels that at only the end of the season can the player’s progress really be assessed.

He was quoted by Sky Sports, saying: „He is a very good player; very quick, sharp and clever. We realise we have to be careful, though, and we shouldn’t get too excited because he has to be focused.

„What we want to do is just continue to keep going and, at the end of the season, we can talk about him.

City’s next outing in the Premier League comes on Monday when the make the trip to the south coast to face Bournemouth.
