Wenger set to announce his plans

Arsene Wenger revealed after his side had beaten Chelsea in the FA Cup final that a decision on his Arsenal future will be made on Tuesday.

The Frenchman oversaw a 2-1 victory at Wembley on Saturday as the Gunners won the FA Cup for a seventh time during his spell in charge of the club.

However, there is still lots of speculation about Wenger and he was once again non-committal when asked about his future after the match.

There will be a board meeting on Tuesday, with the results of it disclosed to the outside world on Wednesday or possibly Thursday.

After watching Alexis Sanchez and Aaron Ramsey score for an Arsenal side that produced one of their best displays of the season on Saturday, Wenger said: “I have always been very clear. We have a board meeting on Tuesday, so I think on Wednesday things will be clearer.

“I think we were outstanding from the first minute. You notice the team has suffered, but we are united, we responded.

“We showed strength, unity and played spectacular football. I’ve said before that this team will win the championship with one or two buys.”

Meanwhile, match-winner Ramsey said of Wenger, who has been in charge of the Gunners for 21 years: “Of course I think he’ll stay. He’s been fantastic for me and the players.

“We changed the formation and had a lot of success. Fair play, it paid off and hopefully he’ll be here next season. We owe him a lot.”

Arsenal can be backed at 12/1 to win the Premier League title in the 2017/18 season and at 1/1 to finish in the top four.
