Pep focused on Cherries trip

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola insists he is not getting distracted by the uncertainty over the futures of Sergio Aguero and Claudio Bravo ahead of Monday’s game at Bournemouth. The pair have both been tipped for possible summer departures, having been forced to sit out their side’s recent outings due to the form of others.

Inevitably rumours have started to be generated about their long-term futures and all eyes will be on Guardiola’s selection on Monday against the Cherries.

Aguero has been the victim of Gabriel Jesus’ fine start to life in England and has subsequently been linked with Real Madrid.

Team-mate Bravo has struggled since signing on in the summer and does not appear to have the attributes required to thrive in the Premier League.

However, with the battle for the top four so tight, third place City cannot afford to take their eye off the ball, with every point set to count in the battle for the Champions League spots.

Guardiola insists he is not letting the speculation detract from their plans between now and the end of the season, insisting he is doing all he can to keep everyone focused Monday’s trip to Dorset.
